Brian Kent Wunder

Brian K. Wunder is an experienced trial attorney with more than two decades of first-chair courtroom experience in federal and state courts, as well as before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). Mr. Wunder brings a formidable litigation background to Angelo IP, where he serves Of Counsel with a focus on intellectual property and complex commercial disputes.

Mr. Wunder began his legal career at Baker & Botts, one of the nation’s preeminent law firms, where he served on the trial and appellate teams representing Pennzoil in the landmark Pennzoil Co. v. Texaco, Inc. matter — litigation that produced a $10.53 billion jury verdict, among the largest in American legal history. He also represented Houston Lighting & Power in billion-dollar lawsuits and regulatory proceedings arising out of the construction of the South Texas Nuclear Project.

Mr. Wunder’s practice encompasses a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including claims for tortious interference, fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. His intellectual property litigation and counseling experience spans patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. In addition, he has handled matters involving catastrophic personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, and Permian Basin mineral rights disputes.

Mr. Wunder has represented clients across a wide array of complex technologies, including well control systems, managed pressure drilling equipment and software, hydraulic fracturing products and services, downhole pressure control systems, oilfield tools and tubulars, chemical engineering processes, medical devices, consumer electronics, computer software, digital storage media, cellular communications (including SMS-related inventions), residential water treatment systems, and telemedicine systems and methods.
