Biography
Ryan is a native Texan, born and raised in Houston. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from McCombs School of Business in 2002. Following college, Ryan earned her Juris Doctorate, graduating summa cum laude, as valedictorian of her class. Ryan earned numerous distinctions and honors during law school – including serving as assistant articles editor of the South Texas Law Review, being inducted into the Order of the Lytae, and earning the American Jurisprudence Award for highest grade in over 10 classes.
Upon graduating law school, Ryan relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii where she worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the Honolulu District Attorney’s office, aggressively litigating hundreds of criminal cases to both juries and judges.
As a Prosecuting Attorney, Ryan litigated a myriad of cases throughout the county justice system which helped her develop critical negotiation and litigation skills, a compassionate will to serve and a tenacious will to win.
In 2009, Ryan transitioned from criminal prosecution to civil litigation. Immediately prior to forming Jacobs McMullen Law, Ryan worked for one of the country’s largest and most prestigious plaintiffs’ asbestos litigation firms where she represented hundreds of clients and their families who have been victims of asbestos exposure. Ryan has aggressively represented her clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States whose injuries were caused by corporate greed and negligent acts of others. Ryan has battled some of our nations largest corporations resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars of recovery.
Ryan lives in Houston, with her husband Mark, their daughter, Shane, and their two dogs. She is an avid photographer, enjoys traveling, watching Texas Longhorn football and spending time with her family. Ryan is licensed to practice law in the States of Texas and Hawaii. She is an active member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and Houston Bar Association.
