10 years ago a special needs child was given up by his drug addicted mother to the Houston Area Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program. The child was placed with a wonderful and loving family. The biol ... ogical mother had no contact with the child as she was in and out of prison on drug related charges. In December of 2017, the mother along with her accomplice kid napped the child from church. This child had no memory of his mother. Fortunately, the child was able to escape from the mother, who was living in a home overrun with drug addicts and drugs. My client then filed a Suit Affecting Parent Child Relationship to gain legal custody of the child. It was a long and tough road, but we won the custody battle, and this beautiful child is safe. Of course, his mother has the option of visitation, but to this date she has not attempted to see the child. Her only interest in having the child was the increased amount of food stamps she could receive.
