The 7th Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees the right to trial by jury in civil disputes greater than $20.00. This constitutionally guaranteed right gives juries the power to protect the community by making people and corporations pay when they do things the wrong way. Just the threat of a lawsuit gets some people and corporations to comply with safety rules, the right way, but as the statistics bear out, year after year, some people and corporations choose to violate safety rules, leading to unnecessary death and injury.

When someone's choice makes you or a loved one a statistic, it is A RIGHT to have a jury render a verdict. Giving dangerous person or corporation a pass or a discount is only rewarding the conduct. Conduct rewarded is conduct repeated. I am thankful for the privilege of serving Houston and surrounding areas, by enforcing safety rules through the 7th Amendment and helping injury victims and their family get closure.
