John Gordon Bock

All I can say is, well done sir! Mr. Bock was the calm in the storm during my divorce. He was gracious and professional when I was emotional and didn't know what to expect. John was a tremendous help during my divorce. He provided “counsel” in all the best senses of the word. He treated me not just like a client, but as a patient friend. I never got the feeling that I was “just another case”; John treats every client as if they were his only client. I know that sounds... trite, but in his case it is actually true. John “sweats the small stuff”. He knows how important details can be. Early in my case John noticed a very small detail in the opposing counsel’s filings. Opposing counsel had changed four words in what is normally a very standard “boilerplate” clause. Many attorneys would have skimmed right past it, but because John does his homework he noticed it, and brought it to my attention. We asked opposing counsel about it. Opposing counsel brushed it off as a typo and revised their pleading. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but ultimately that small detail turned out to be what made it possible for me to keep my kids. I will always be grateful for that, and so will my kids. John was a great help to me and my family, every step of the way. He was knowledgeable, patient, and completely professional; and he helped me stay that way too. (Let’s just say that when I ran into my ex-wife’s attorney in the courthouse hallway, John knew when to step in.) When you are in the middle of a family law case, especially a divorce case, it is often because you have been betrayed by someone you trusted. You think “I was so wrong about her (or him); how do I know I’m not wrong about this too?” You find yourself questioning your judgment in everything. Unfortunately it is exactly at this time that you find yourself faced with all sorts of urgent and important decisions. These decisions are going to dictate the rest of your life, the rest of your kid’s lives, and they all hit you at the exact same time, right when you are at your absolute emotional and psychological worst. At a time like that, you can trust John. You can trust him to give you clearheaded, honest, sometimes even blunt advice. You can trust him to look out for you, your family and your assets. You can trust him to make sure that you make it through the whole painful process as easily and as painlessly as is legally possible. When you can't trust yourself, you can trust John. I can’t emphasize enough how important that is.

My Mother and I have been and are so grateful for John Bock's expertise in dealing with my Mother's will and all documentation associated with an elder person's needs. I have been extremely happy with his ability to know exactly what is needed and how to word the documents in a loving yet profession...al manner. Extremely satisfied with him and his gracious staff.
