Jessie-Zakiya Farr

A Los Angeles native, J. Zakiya Farr is a dedicated Family Law Attorney at The Gonzalez Law Group, PLLC. She is a proud alumna of Prairie View A&M University and earned her law degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Prior to pursuing law, Zakiya spent ten years as an educator in Houston, where she developed a deep understanding of the challenges families face and strengthened her commitment to advocating for children.

During law school, Zakiya honed her legal skills by working in the Family Law Clinic and contributing to the Washburn Family Law Journal. Her passion for family law is rooted in her upbringing and a strong desire to support and protect children within her community. Zakiya is dually licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Texas.

Inspired by the trailblazing work of legal legends such as Charlotte E. Ray, Charles Hamilton Houston, Thurgood Marshall, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Johnnie Cochran, Zakiya strives to uphold justice with the same tenacity, integrity, and commitment to social equity that defined her role models.
