They know almost everything about your past and current immigration status. If your employer extend your status, you will be in status.

He will be allowed to enter, but he can not adjust his status in the U.S. based on the pending H-1B petition. He has to do a consular process.

You could, but it will be a tough case. You and your employer need to work with an attorney. Canadians do not receive special treatment.
