I agree with my colleague. You can ask your employer to start greencard process for you. It is also a good idea to change your TN status to H1B.

You have to demonstrate that you intend to establish domicile in the U.S. on or before your parents arrive to the U.S. as permanent resident.

You don't have to file a new H4 application. As long as you maintain your H1B status, your spouse is in status.
