Born and raised in Houston, Texas, with family ties to Abia State, Nigeria, Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Her legal career is fundamentally rooted in child advocacy, having spent years prior to law school working with Child Protective Services and Child Advocates to support abused and neglected children. This deep experience informs her compassionate approach to family law cases, where she focuses on complex issues such as child custody, CPS matters, modifications, enforcements, and high-value divorce cases. Joanne’s early legal work at Lone Star Legal Aid gave her significant courtroom experience, reinforcing her ability to stand up for families in need.
