Look for a local legal aid clinic or office. I am certain Denver has one in there area. They may or may not take your case.

Send them a cease and desist letter as well as a verification letter. Start documenting all communication concerning the creditor.

Debt settlement companies are generally fruitless. My advice is to stay away from them.

Presuming this is a Chapter 7 discharge, you have 8 years from filing date to filing date. It sounds like some day in 2013.
