Alan Craig Haston

I had used Craig in a previous divorce and was pleased. My advice to anyone now thinking about using him now-- DO NOT! I could not believe the difference in how he performs now. He takes on too many clients that he can not perform his job in a timely manner and then over charges for work complet...ed. When I hired him for my Pre/Post Marital Agreements he said that he would be able to do the work. Come to find out that he was not able to review and provide comments on documents for months due to "new" clients. So basically, once he has you as a client he puts his efforts on getting more clients without doing the work timely for his existing clients. His excuse is that it is just him doing the work. Well... "Don't get new clients if you can not do the existing work timely". It was months before I got any input back with frequent calls I made to press him to do the work. Also I felt that he was churning on the work just to get the hours worked much higher. He made a few comments on a draft agreement provided to him, and had 1 in person meeting, that he showed up late to, and charged me almost $7,000.00. This charge was $3,000.00 more than my fiance's attorney who did the bulk of the work with drafting the agreements and making all the changes. I had recommended him to my friends previously but not anymore. Stay away from Craig Haston if you want your work to be done well and at a reasonable price.

I'm not one to typically review anything, but my service was so poor that I feel like I don't want others to fall prey to The Haston Law Firm. I originally had a $300 consult with Craig Haston and he filled me up with hope and peace of mind. I paid my $3000 retainer and then nothing. I was assigned a...nother Lawyer to my case named Corey Miller who was so over booked with cases that after 8 months we got no results. During that time I got no feed back. I had to call, email and push them to do their jobs. Essentially they took my money and provided next to nothing return. Please do yourself a favor and do not use this Firm-

Without hesitation I want to share my positive feedback on the recent experience I had with The Haston Law Firm. The need for service was not a pleasant one; divorce never is. From day one the team was amazing to work with, attentive, responsive and I always felt my representative was determined to... take excellent care of me and have my best interest at heart. We worked well together to provide information to opposing counsel timely and accurately and when things were not moving (from the 'other' side), my representation took swift action. They constantly stayed on top of everything, were completely prepared and always had all information at their fingertips when it was asked for. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this firm for their legal needs. I feel confident if I were in a situation where I needed help again, they would step up and handle my needs just as efficiently as they did my divorce.

I engaged with Mr. Haston to handle my divorce with a child case. Initially, the case was contested, after which the ex-wife and I decided it would be in our best interests to come to terms and settle on an arrangement that we both agreed with. I do not question Craig's legal abilities, but his... business practices are unethical. My case ended up costing $15,000 with still no final divorce decree filed. After reaching out multiple times to his office to ask if a Settlement draft could be completed, all I received were vague responses. However, during this time his billing personnel reached out to me several times asking for more money, completely ignoring my plea for completing my divorce. When I eventually escalated the situation, Craig became defensive and tried to say that I was "threatening" and "bullying" him, when all I was doing was exerting my right as a paying client and a citizen. He mentioned that sometimes it's hard to balance what the client wants with reality. The reality is, my wife and I ended up finalizing the divorce ourselves pro se, within our agreed terms, and the process was extremely quick and smooth. Also, during the initial consultation where I was billed for an hour, he used some of that time to talk about his personal family life, and even cut it short by a few minutes. Sounds petty, but when you are being billed $400 an hour, every minute is valuable. His office also failed to send me invoices that were requested multiple times, and then tried to charge me interest on invoices that I never even received. It is clear that Mr. Haston has the interest of his firm collecting your money firsthand over actually being a good humanitarian and representing you diligently. I have no reason whatsoever to speak anything but the truth or spend my time writing a review for something that means nothing. I'm sure Craig will come on here trying to defend himself, but facts are facts and if you do end up using Craig as your family attorney, be prepared to have more emotional strain added on top of what you are already going through.
