just charged with little action
I hired this lawyer, she seemed to be good, but then the lack of motion from her was a deal breaker. I gave her over 2000 and just before trial she put a motion to withdraw. She appeared in court one time for less than 30 min. The bill she put on me was another 1000, but I saw no justifiable work for...
I am very sorry you feel this way and wish there was more that I could do to help you. Although your post is anonymous, I believe I know who you are based on prior communications between us; I think it would be helpful if you review the response made directly to you. Our Firm has tried very hard to get you the relief you wanted, and based on objectively verified concerns raised during the proceeding, the Firm has not yet been able to do so but has not stopped trying. In your complaint, you did not identify all of the work provided by the Firm on your behalf: The Firm did much more than just appear at a hearing but performed extensive out-of-court services including attendance at a 4-hour mediation. In family law cases, most of the work is performed outside the courtroom so even if I spent very little time in court, that has no relationship to the amount of work done on your case. You were provided a monthly invoice that described all of the services performed on your behalf and you never stated that the services were not performed. Your statement that the Firm, and me in particular, did very little on your behalf is just not accurate. More importantly, the Firm has not withdrawn from your case and has not filed a motion to do so even though you have not made a payment for several months. When our clients have difficulty paying their balances, we try to work out payment plans; however, you have not made any effort to make arrangements to pay your balance and stopped paying altogether. If a client tells us that they cannot afford to pay going forward, or fails to make a payment for several months, we cannot continue to remain on the case and work for free. I am positive that this client would not continue to go to her job if her employer stopped paying her. Such a business decision on our part does not mean that we are not trying to provide the client with valuable legal services, but we cannot provide services for free.
"I am currently working with Darcele on a family law matter. She is a pleasure work with and is knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. I would highly recommend Darecele."
"I endorse this lawyer. Darcele and I have worked together on family law cases. She is very thorough with researching the law."
