THE REAL DEAL

Ashley is the one to represent you ,from the first consultation to the end . Always had my best interest , never missed my phone calls from jail and keep my family updated. He didn't back down and got the job done.

was 1 day away from leaving a scar on my future.

I hired Ashley Burleson in end of April to take care of a third-degree felony for me on my first charge in ANY jurisdiction in the United States, I leave a 2 star because he was well priced and waived my appearances... but his work behind the scenes could've scarred my future quickly. 7/19 today I ha...d a setting where he had led me to make a decision to plea to 2 years probation or go to trial just for getting into a small fight with my little brother, I was NEVER even convicted so getting to a plea deal stage should have never happened in the first place, misinformed me that it was sealable and told me not to go to trial as we'll lose. This was after I told him my brother did not want to press charges, signed a non-prosecution affidavit and would not show up at a trial as he's underage and expressed to me that he would not do it and wanted to move past this stage quickly just like me. Ashley was days late informing me on decisions, conversations the prosecutor had been making with Ashley and my brothers dad on my case and prosecutors' stance until I prodded him about it. It felt like a lot of the time I was telling him how to approach the prosecutor and actually fight properly for my case and he was angry at me for doing so.. it is my future but I figured I could trust my attorney to have the same interests as me. We signed an agreement and when I asked him questions about each step outlined in the agreement he evaded them and told me it was a waste of time talking to me further, our agreement stated an attempt at dismissal, PTI, or deferred adjudication probation that's not sealable as a last step and within 1 month he was already on the last step and couldn't give one reason for why he couldn't get a dismissal or why he wouldn't fight harder for a PTD/PTI. I had to plead to my brother for his help in what he was wanting to do anyways which was to get past this so he quickly sent an email to the prosecutor and when I told Ashley this he wanted to receive a Zelle payment just to show up and have an easy conversation the day before the biggest decision of my life in which he was planning to just be at the setting and get a deadline for me to evidently eventually make a terrible decision that would have been permanent. I hired another attorney yesterday 7/18 which I won't name and within 24 hours literally last minute was able to get me a PTI which can be dismissed and expunged upon completion.

What determines Avvo Rating?
