Biography
As a Board-Certified Family Law attorney, my practice focuses on complex property and highly contentious custody cases across the State of Texas. I likewise have a wide range of experience relating to drafting unique/tailored divorce provisions in shareholder and other business entity agreements, including formulas for valuation of the corresponding entity, with "belt and suspenders" to premarital and/or post-marital agreements. I believe these types of agreements - premarital and post-marital agreements - create a form of "divorce insurance" - insuring and giving peace-of-mind not only to the client but also, when applicable, to the corresponding entity, new shareholders, or even investors from the instability that can often arise during a divorce.
I am Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a frequent speaker and author. I have been recognized among Texas' Top Lawyers by Super Lawyers, including Top 50 Women in 2022. The Houston Business Journal also recognized me among Women Who Mean Business in 2021.
I am a natural competitor, stemming from my extensive soccer experience at the collegiate and National levels. I attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on a full athletic scholorship and played on the Women's Varsity Soccer Team for my four years at Wake Forest. I graduated in 2007 from Wake Forest with a B.A. in Spanish and Communication, and immediately began my legal careeer at Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law, graduating in 2010.
My goal is to empower my clients to become effective advocates for themselves and their families by providing dedicated, zealous and results-oriented representation before, during, and after litigation.
