Hands down the best in the business!! Dr. Barnes came highly recommended to me by an excellent doctor. He sat down with me and listened to all the details of my case. He walked me through the legal process so I would know what to expect. He can truly offer expert opinion because he is not only a doct...or, but a lawyer as well. Many medical malpractice lawyers are not well versed on the medical missteps, and need to hire a medical expert to verify the medical details. Dr. Barnes recognizes the red flags right away and therefore knows how and where to combine the two to make for a stronger case! I contacted Dr. Barnes regarding an employment issue that I was dealing with. This review is based on my previous experience with a different Attorney and Law Firm compared to my recent experience with Dr. Stephen Barnes My previous experience with Attorneys has been that they are extremely busy ...with an overload of cases. As a result, they often overlook critical details with a client's case. Additionally, clients have to constantly follow up with the Attorney to continue moving the case forward with the hopes of a positive outcome. This was not the case with Dr. Barnes. Stephen was immediately responsive when I reached out to him. He actually answered his phone the first time I called him. More importantly, he took the time to read the critical information that I sent to him prior to our initial in person consultation. I spoke with Dr. Barnes several times over the phone. Stephen also helped me with a document that I needed to sign for my company. Without Dr. Barnes help, I would have not been able to counter the contents of the document. Stephen continued to field my telephone calls and provide advice. Dr. Barnes ultimately referred me to another Attorney, who was more specialized with my employment issue. I would highly recommend Dr. Stephen Barnes. In this day and age, it's very difficult to find an excellent Attorney that will take the precious time to fully understand your concerns and help you navigate through the complex legal system.

Dr. Barnes used to practice surgery in Houston after his residency at Johns Hopkins. He went back to law school. All I can say is that he was so very good at both explaining the medicine behind my daughters' death as well as the law as it applies to my daughters' death. That gave me closure. Th...at's a very unique combination that I've never experienced before in a lawyer. Dr. Barnes seems to have "help people cope" in his DNA. I've never seen that in a lawyer.
