Veronica Elyse Montemayor

Veronica Montemayor is an associate at McCathern’s Houston office. She joined the firm in 2013 after graduating from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, Veronica participated as an Advocate in the 2011 Summer Trial Academy and was a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association. Veronica focused on a curriculum in business associations and partnerships law.

Throughout law school, Veronica clerked at a small Houston law firm that was originally founded by two of McCathern’s prominent partners, Rodney Drinnon and Ronald Wright. Veronica’s clerkship afforded her the opportunity to truly apply what she learned in law school and further sharpen her litigation skills. As a law clerk, Veronica attended depositions, conferred with lead counsel to develop case strategies, and argued various motions she drafted at oral hearings under her 3L Bar Card.

Veronica’s practice experience covers multiple areas of civil litigation, with a focus on commercial and business law. Veronica is admitted to practice law in all Texas state courts and is in the process of being admitted into all federal courts in Texas. She is also a member of the Houston Bar Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston.

Veronica was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is a graduate of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, and she received her undergraduate degree in Spanish Language and Literature with a minor in Biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. During her off time, Veronica enjoys practicing yoga, spending time with family and friends, and has been known to win karaoke competitions around town.
