Susanne Marshall Nelson

Susanne Nelson's practice is focused onrepresenting clients in all aspects of litigation, and she primarilyrepresents clients in the oil and gas industry. Susanne has appearedbefore Texas federal and state courts and has appeared before theAmerican Arbitration Association in Houston and New York City. She hasworked on a variety of complex commercial matters involving breach ofcontract issues related to the oil and gas industry, joint ventureagreements, licensing and distributorship agreements, and trade secretissues. She has experience with commercial cases involving tortiousinterference with contractual relations, misappropriation of tradesecrets, business disparagement, defamation, contesting personaljurisdiction in state and federal courts, fraudulent transfer, productliability issues, Medicare fraud issues, securities fraud, and patentand trademark infringement. She also has experience obtaining temporaryinjunctive relief. In addition, she has worked on international casesinvolving choice of law issues and participated in representation ofclients in a hearing to determine foreign law relating to a disputeover a Central Asian natural gas pipeline project.

Whileworking for the Honorable Tim Taft of the First District Court ofAppeals of Texas, Susanne advised appellate justices in mattersinvolving all aspects of civil law and numerous aspects of criminallaw. As part of her responsibilities at the court, she made written andoral presentations to a panel of three justices.

Susanne is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.
