Joshua Sheeks Wyde

I am an intellectual property attorney in private practice since 2007 (and registered patent agent since 2005), with experience in many facets of patent litigation, prosecution, and licensing—everything from evaluation of portfolios for potential purchase and assertion through the filing of a complaint to trial and appeal. I also register trademarks, provide copyright advice, and generally handle any IP-related work.

Prior to entering the legal field, I had a fourteen year career as a computer engineer, where I gained significant knowledge of all aspects of computers and software, including creating real-time embedded operating systems, testing wireless captive office functionality, designing and architecting ASICs, creating BIOS functionality, laying out PCBs, interfacing with manufacturing, implementing patented fault-tolerant architecture, and more.

I also have valuable non-traditional skill sets, having gotten my MBA at night while working full-time as an engineer, and by founding a start-up company that sold an internet-based service to automatically identify and check citations in legal documents.
