When Alex joined my custody case within the Skillern law firm, she was thrown into an extremely high conflict case with all sorts of the worst issues and allegations that can be thrown around when the going gets tough i.e. alleged rape of a child, CPS allegations at your door, abuse allegations durin...g a home study, etc. Not once did Alex suggest we bow to the intimidation tactics of the other party. She was knowledgeable and assertive and encouraged me to stay the course. In the end, I went from standard non-primary to primary custodial parent. I was told by EVERYONE this would be impossible and to basically just be happy with extended standard possession. I refused to listen and Alex was willing to fight for me and my child. She looks and sounds young and to another lawyer, she may not seem like a threat initially but she should not be underestimated as she has bull dog tenacity and when the other party or party's lawyer tries their hand at a power play they are not entitled to, Alex will absolutely be the first one to shut them down. She was not arrogant and was always willing to listen. Additionally, Alex made sure that the signed custody agreement stated I would get any child support overages I had paid sent back to me. When the other party tried not to pay, Alex stayed on top of calling the OAG Child Support office and sending them whatever paperwork or information they needed and I was able to get over $4,000 paid back to me. Even one of the employees in the Child Support office said she never saw that actually happen before. It's unfortunate, but that's how the system works unless you have someone with chess-like skills who is willing to put in the time and effort. Alex showed the system that dads are just as important as moms and my family is grateful for her guidance and efforts.
