Lance C. Arney

Lance's commercial practice includes disputes among business owners arising from breaches of partnership agreements, violations of fiduciary duties, or minority shareholder oppression. He also represents companies in claims arising from business transactions, including those governed by the Uniform Commercial Code or the international law of commerce.

Lance's practice has always focused on civil litigation. In addition to the specific practice areas discussed on this page, he represents and has represented insureds who have been wrongfully denied or underpaid insurance benefits, individuals who have suffered serious personal injuries, and clients in other matters needing legal representation in court.

Throughout his career Lance has represented individual investors who have suffered substantial investment losses, both within the FINRA arbitration process and in the traditional legal system. These cases have involved a wide range of investment types, including stocks, variable annuities, mutual funds, foreign exchange trading, options, REITs, and oil and gas limited partnerships.

Many disputes arising from a contractual relationship are now governed by mandatory or optional arbitration provisions. Lance has experience in arbitrating cases under the major arbitration rules, including FINRA, JAMS, and AAA.
