I have focused on trying cases to juries from the start of my career. From the age of 18, I was lucky enough to work for phenominal trial lawyers as a clerk. They taught me to approach every legal matters as if it would end in trial. I believe that this approach was the right one, leading me to better results for my clients over the last 27 years. When difficult cases failed to settle, years of trial experience has made me comfortable taking the facts to a jury for them to make the final determination.
In addition to having a trial focused practice, I have been trained as an Electrical Engineer. This background has given me a strong foundation in rigor and diligence that has translated into my case preparation. Working on complex cases with many moving parts keeps me interested in my career, a dynamic that I owe to having a hard science background. I have worked on all kinds of cases involving a wide variety of legal and technical issues. At this stage of my career, I have focused on significant civil injury cases and serious criminal cases. Having worked with school teachers with legal conflicts since 1996, I also maintain a significant legal practice in defending them against school districts and licencing agencies.

James was masterful in our case and it was a highly complex. He was focused on getting justice for family. Which he did in overwhelming fashion. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with James. If you are looking for an attorney who is skilled, knowledgeable and ethically sound t...
"I had the opportunity to work with James on a case where the client had her own strong ideas about how the case should proceed—circumstances that might have caused other attorneys to step away. James recognized how personal the issues were and approached her with empathy, patience, and genuine respect. He understood that earning her trust was essential, and he succeeded. James then struck the perfect balance between carefully navigating settlement options in her best interest while also making it clear that he believed in her case and was fully prepared to try it if necessary. His trial preparation was meticulous, his professionalism and client relations were outstanding, and his intellect, technical knowledge, and courtroom skill all shone through. In the end, James achieved a resounding victory—a 100% win. He also demonstrated a rare mix of empathy, diligence, and strong advocacy along the way, making a difficult case as comfortable as possible for his client. Impeccable job."
