Cop claimed he was in a high "prostitution and drug area" and saw my client parked on the street. He approached him for no reason, asked him what he was doing to which my client replied that he was los ... t and using his GPS to find a location. Cop claimed it was suspicious that his phone had a black screen w/ no GPS (phones do have sleep timers.....) and that he was nervous (who wouldn't be). At that time the cop detained him and asked him to get out of the car. A search of his wallet revealed the fake license. Again, if the detention is illegal, anything the officer finds is illegal.
