Sejal Kireetkumar Brahmbhatt

Sejal K. Brahmbhatt has been an attorney at Williams Hart & Boundas, LLP since 2003, and became partner in 2022. She primarily works with individuals who have been injured by pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Sejal has been practicing law since 2001 and has built an impressive record of case results in the personal injury and mass torts arenas throughout her over 20 years of experience.

Sejal was a member of the trial team that represented children who were born with certain birth defects as a result of in utero Depakote exposure. She managed the Depakote docket at the firm, and the team went on to resolve the litigation after obtaining both a $38 million verdict and a $15 million verdict for the affected families in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and in St. Louis state court. In addition to taking on Depakote, Sejal has also gone toe to toe with a number of household names, focusing her energy on litigations involving companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Janssen, Merck, Boston Scientific, and GlaxoSmithKline. She has been appointed by Judge Claire Cecchi to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the national Proton Pump Inhibiter Litigation. Sejal is not afraid to take on giant corporations to ensure her clients receive the justice they deserve.

In addition to her work in the courtroom, Sejal is a highly sought-after public speaker. She has been asked to present at many conferences throughout her career, including the American Association for Justice, the MDL Judicial Summit, Texas Women Rainmakers, and Mass Torts Made Perfect. She has spoken on subjects regarding her work on various pharmaceutical litigations, how to maneuver the mass tort arena, and how to litigate a pharmaceutical case.

Sejal has had a unique path in life. She is South Asian, was born in London, England, and moved to the United States at age nine. Her background – along with her experiences in the legal field – has given her a distinctive perspective. She has shared her insights and advice with other women in law at various speaking engagements.

Sejal is licensed to practice law in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Missouri, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Western, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and before the United States Supreme Court. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston in 1996, where she majored in both Psychology and Political Science, with a minor in Radio/Television Communications. She then attended South Texas College of Law, where she received the Dean’s Fellowship Scholarship and graduated with her Juris Doctorate degree in 2000. While in law school, Sejal was also involved in a number of student organizations, including serving as the Student Bar Representative, the President of the International Law Society, the Secretary of the Women’s Legal Forum, and more.

Sejal’s hard work and dedication have long been noticed by those around her, including her peers in the legal profession. Sejal has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list by Thomson Reuters in both 2013 and 2014, as well as in the Texas Super Lawyers list every year since 2021.
