Richard Andrew Howell

Richard A. Howell is a commercial trial lawyer. Mr. Howell represents plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of industries in complex disputes that require a skilled and creative presence in the courtroom.

In the past four years, Mr. Howell has served as the lead attorney for national banks, a national health system, and oil & gas industry clients in seven trials and many other evidentiary hearings. In that time, he has obtained injunctions and awards in excess of $1.25 million and $3.5 million when representing plaintiffs, and he has obtained dismissals of lawsuits and total defense jury verdicts and judgments for defendants. Additionally, Mr. Howell has assisted colleagues in five jury trials and a bench trial, including representing a global chemical company in a five-week jury trial involving claims for fraud and breach of contract where the plaintiff sought more than $1 billion.

In 2014, Mr. Howell was recognized by Thomson Reuters as a “Rising Star” for his work on behalf of clients in business litigation. He derives great satisfaction from exceeding clients’ expectations in terms of the result obtained and the cost of achieving it.
