Mr. Becher is about is bad as they come. My home is in forclosure and the lawyer handling my case is based in Broward County so he "outsourced" an important Case Management Hearing to Ms. Shantal Lucilele Becher. I was given her phone # (the same one posted on this Avvo page) and called her 2 conse...cutive days Thursday and Friday May 9 and 10 since our hearing was 8:45am Monday May 13th. Ms. Becher ignored both calls. Finally late Saturday 4pm May 11th I called again and left a 3rd message, only to receive a rude call back questioning "Why I was Calling her Home" on a weekend. Interesting since her "Home #" is listed as her "Work #" on this Avvo Page. After Speaking with her for 5 minutes we made arrangements to meet at 8:15 Monday May 13th (30 Min Prior to the 8:45 hearing at the West Palm Beach Courthouse). She assured me that she had all of the documents and would be prepared to defend me. I arrived on time at 8:15 Monday May 13th and telephoned Ms. Becher at 8:30 only to be told "She Was Running Late in Traffic". When I asked her "what to expect" she told me "prepare for the worst... your lawyer didn't do what he was supposed to do and the judge is going to rule against us... we don't have much of a defense. I explained that was not true and even it it was true that she had a legal and moral responsibility to defend me to the best of her ability. Her reply was "well I can only do what I can do". Ms. Becher arrived after 9:00am (15 minutes after court started) and spent much of the time in the front of the courtroom working on other court case papers, chatting with other lawyers and running in and out on her phone. When my case was finally called and the Plaintiff's Lawyers when up and Stated their Case and Opinions Before be to the Judge, the Judge then asked Ms. Shantal Becher "is that true Counsel? and Why is that". To my Shock and Amazement, Mrs. Becher DID NOT MAKE ANY EFFORT WHATSOEVER to Defend me, or try to Counter (which she should have since i was in the right and have been fighting to defend my legal right for some time now). But instead actually "Threw Me Under the Bus" by saying "Yes Your Honor, I am Just "filling in because the defendant's lawyer could not make today's hearing" and then said "Yes Your Honor, the Defendant's Lawyer Totally Dropped the Ball her and Never Filed the Proper Documents and I have No Idea Why He Would Fail to Do So". At Which Point the Judge Said, "That's it I am setting the Auction Sale Date for June 18th, 2013 on this House". At that Point, Ms. Becher Smiled and Walked Away with the Opposing Counsel and Chatted. When She Sat Down I asked her "Why Did You Not Defend Me and Why Would You Do Such a Horrible Thing?" i then asked her "What Am I Supposed to Do Now"? Ms. Becher's Response Verbatum Was "I Am NOT Your Attorney... You Will Have to Ask Him". I Plan on Taking Every Legal and Ethical Action Possible including Reporting Ms. Becher to the Bar and Other Agencies. Stay Clear of Ms. Becher... Even if She Offers to Represent You For Free!
