Lousy lawyer

Took my mother to see this lawyer and she wasn't helpful at all!! She never explained anything to her about workers comp. when her doctor gave her a settlement paper to sign legally they should have had an interpreter to translate what was she signing little did we know that we had 90 days to Appeal.... We didn't know any of the process and when we went to see her and showed what she had signed she said we couldn't appeal the 90 days were up. when it was time for her to meet with social worker from workers comp she wasnt there and they rescheduled to appeal the settlement that mom signed without knowing what it was. Later on just 3 weeks before the appointment with workers comp social worker she call my mother and says she wasn't going to represent her no more that she needed to face this alone since it was her fault for signing a paper without knowing. It was the lawyers responsibility to inform their client what they maybe facing with doctors and what papers not to sign unless an interpreter was present!! Very lousy lawyer don't throw you're money away might as well let workers comp keep it!!

It is unfortunate that your mother did not have a good experience with our firm. Our bilingual staff strives to keep each client informed. Unfortunately, when a client prefers to do things his/her way and does not follow instructions, there is only so much that an attorney can do to salvage a case. Our firm takes the necessary steps and goes out of its way to deal with issues that arise in a case even to the point of investing time attending hearings, etc. although our firm will not be paid. It appears the explanation regarding the reason for closing the case was not understood as Doctors do not give settlement documents. We invite you to contact our office so that we may again thoroughly explain the issues giving rise to the closing of this case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
