Dana Keith Martin

Mr. Dana K. Martin is an attorney and member of the firm of Hill Rivkins, LLP, Houston, Texas. Mr. Martin graduated from South Dakota State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, (Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi, engineering honor societies) where he placed in a 1977 regional American Society of Mechanical Engineers research competition at Iowa State University with a research topic of “Acoustics of Civic Centers.” Mr. Martin worked for two U.S. oil companies, Texaco and Exxon, in their research and technical departments between 1977 and 1983, where he worked on North Sea platform production facility design, and he worked in two refineries in New Jersey and Washington in a maritime cargo receiving and shipping capacity.  Mr. Martin graduated from the University of Houston with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1984, and Mr. Martin is the author of a published article “The  E.E.C. – U.S. Trade War and the Dairy Industry.” He made a presentation on “ Recovery Relationships and Pratfalls of Marine Claims” at the Steel in Transit Conference in Bremen , Germany in April 2013 and a presentation before the International Transportation Management Association in Houston, Texas in August, 2013 entitled: “Good(s) Relationships, We Really Do Need Each Other”.  He serves various international clients in a litigation practice involving contract disputes, products liability, personal injury, and international trade. He is qualified to practice before the U.S. District Courts of the Southern, Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Courts of  Appeals of the 5th and 11th Circuits. He is a Proctor Member of the Maritime Law Association of The United States, a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Mariner’s Club and is currently serving on the board of directors of the Houston Maritime Arbitrators Association.
