Alex Jerome Brown

Alex J. Brown represents large groups of clients in national/multi-district product liability litigation (MDL) and currently serves on the Talc MDL trial committee. He also represents individual clients in federal and state courts across the country at both the trial and appellate level, and in domestic and international arbitration forums.

Before he became a plaintiff’s lawyer, Alex was a partner in the Houston office of one of the oldest and largest law firms in Texas. There, he represented multi-national corporations in complex business disputes involving international project development, partnerships, oil and gas ventures, corporate governance, real estate development, and mass torts.

Just prior to joining Heard Law Firm, Alex worked closely with legendary trial lawyer, Mark Lanier and served on his trial team for 4 years. The Lanier trials he worked on include two Pinnacle hip implant trials in 2016 that resulted in a $1 billion jury verdict and a $502 million jury verdict, and the Actos drug trial in 2014 that resulted in a $9 billion jury verdict. Alex was recognized for his work on these cases with Mr. Lanier by The Legal 500 2016 publication - the world’s largest legal referral guide.

For years, Alex has been selected as a “Texas Rising Star” byTexas Monthly Magazine and as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in 2017 for his product-liability experience. For nearly a decade, he has maintained an AV Preeminent® ranking among his peers, which is awarded by Martindale-Hubbell to those attorneys whose peers rank them “at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.”

Alex is a native Houstonian who is licensed in Texas and New York. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Eastern District of Texas as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
