very unsatisfied

He was retained as my lawyer late November 2012 for a divorce. When originally saw him it was to be uncontested, then when retained it was to be contested (due to not knowing where in Tx my ex is located at this time) changed everything. But 7 weeks later not knowing or hadn't heard anything from th...e laywer/office, I called and was told he wanted to see me. I went and his excuse for my case not moving forward after 7 weeks mind you, was because they were confused on wether it was to be a non contested or contested divorce. 7 weeks and I had to make the initial call to find out the status of the case. Give me a break, couldn't someone have been able to pick up the phone make a 2 minute phone call and ask the question? Seriously? Well supposedly it was going to start proceding from there. Needless to say I went 2 weeks later by this time it's end of January 2013 now just to sign an affidavit of last known address for my ex. It is now 4 weeks later end of February and still haven't heard a thing. I call the office and can't get any information other than it's in process. In process of what someone tell me something. He has very poor communications skills that's for darn sure! It doesn't do any good to go see him because I can hardly get 5 minutes of his time, I guess my case is not important enough to him to sit and explain the process my divorce is supposedly going through. I'm frustrated and fed up! I was supposed to be getting married April 6, which I stressed to him when I went in mid January, too late now had to cancel my plans because of it. Needless to say my fiance is not a happy camper due to the lack of professionalism from my supposed lawyer. And at me in trying to get a divorce from a firm that the lawyer works for and doesn't even communicate with me, his client. And can I mention by the way that he has been paid in full for his services. What services? good question. I gave a down payment and kept up with my part of the payment process of 4 payments until paid in full. Yup paid in full end of January how do you like them apples. Frustrated, frustrated and very frustrated.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
