Christopher Adams

Chris Adams' practice focuses on corporate reorganizations and restructurings, acquisitions of assets in bankruptcy, and creditors' rights. He has experience representing large, publicly traded entities in their Chapter 11 cases and institutional and corporate creditors in some of the country's largest Chapter 11 cases to date. His practice also includes general civil litigation in both federal and state courts as well as general business transactions. Chris' clients have come to appreciate his zealous representation tempered by his practical approach to solving their legal and business problems.

Chris attended the Baylor University School of Law where he obtained his J.D. while serving as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Wesley W. Steen of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Upon graduating law school, Chris joined Sheinfeld, Maley & Kay, P.C. and eventually joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a renowned international law firm with one of the leading bankruptcy practices in the United States. In 2003, Chris joined the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, an international law firm based in Houston, Texas. While working at these law firms, Chris gained invaluable experience in the fields of business reorganization, business transactions and general commercial litigation.

In 2007, Chris joined with Matthew Okin to form Okin Adams, a boutique law firm focusing on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters. With a distinguished background helping businesses go through bankruptcy, reorganization, and handling complex business issues, Chris has become invaluable to his clients.

Chris has been named a “Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Section of the Houston Bar Association, and the Turnaround Management Association.
