Alexander Wolf

Alex Wolf maintains a practice in civil litigation and white collar criminal defense.  His civil practice includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants, with recent cases involving commercial disputes, trade secrets, and intellectual property.  His white collar practice includes government investigations and prosecutions for environmental and financial crimes.

Since joining Smyser Kaplan & Veselka in 2014, Mr. Wolf has been a key member of two trial teams that have won significant victories in federal court: U.S. v. Kaluza et al. (acquittal in a Clean Water Act case stemming from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill; E.D. La. 2016) and Quantlab Technologies Ltd. et al. v. Godlevsky et al. ($12 million judgment in an intellectual property and theft of trade secrets case accompanied by four $28.5 million stipulated judgments with settling defendants; S.D. Tex. 2015).  Both cases were covered by the Wall Street Journal and major legal periodicals. 

Mr. Wolf received his B.A. from Cornell University, magna cum laude, in 2006 and his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2012, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation.  After law school, he practiced in the Boston office of McDermott Will & Emery and clerked for the Honorable Carolyn Dineen King on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Wolf worked in alumni affairs and development at Cornell University. He also holds a master's degree in higher education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Mr. Wolf is licensed to practice in Texas and Massachusetts.
