The prosecution ultimately entered into an agreement with Client that, upon full payment of restitution, Client would receive probation without jail time. Client was able to make payment of restitution in an agreed upon amount, and the Court implemented the parties' agreement.
OUTCOME: Super Drunk Driving charge reduced to civil infraction upon completion of Sobriety Court program
Client charged with violating Michigan's super drunk driving law, with a BAC higher than .17. Client's BAC of .21 was nearly three times the legal limit. Client had numerous mental health diagnoses, ... as well as an alcohol dependence issue. Client changed his life dramatically by becoming involved in a number of proactive interventions. His mental health stabilized, he stopped drinking and his treatment team concluded that he is unlikely to reoffend. A Mid-Michigan prosecutor agreed that if Client successfully completed a Sobriety Court program, then the criminal charge would be reduced to a civil infraction of Careless Driving.
OUTCOME: Dismissal of charges
Mr. Zulakis was recently able to successfully represent a young woman charged with Soliciting for Prostitution, while employed at a local strip club. Mr. Zulakis was able to persuade prosecuting offic ... ials that Client did not fit the profile of individuals typically involved in prostitution (i.e. drug or alcohol issues, lack of education, unstable home, sexual and/or physical abuse victim). Additionally, proactive measures taken by Client with Counsel's advice, namely new employment and drug and alcohol testing, to confirm the absence of any problem, led to an agreement with prosecuting officials that the case should be dismissed.

Mid-Michigan Client, with a prior drug history and two prior drinking and driving offenses, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamines. Client, who was an employed single father, was ... facing prison time, loss of employment, and loss of custody of his child to Child Protective Services. Mr. Zulakis was able to successfully negotiate a resolution, which involved a plea to a misdemeanor offense, with a probationary term.
