On point!

We live states away and Steve took over our case for one of his associates. I was impressed by his cross examination questioning to the other side. Knowing every answer and had evidence to every question he asked.....which of course caught the respondent in spatting fabricated statements to the court.... He was very familiar with the judge we went before and naturally we won our case! Thank you Steve and all those who worked diligently at your firm with our case.

Above and beyond

Steve Walden is not just a very thorough and highly effective lawyer, he is also a compassionate person who enjoys helping people more than making money. Steve was able to get two felony charges against us dismissed before trial. He expertly compiled and presented all the exculpatory evidence and p...resented it to the DA. When he learned that the legal expenses were hurting us, he stopped charging us for his time.

You get what you pay for.

I first had spoken with Steve in the fall of 2013. I was in dire need of a knowledgable lawyer for a incident i was involved in. I had been arrested and I was released on a 100 thousand dollar bond. My charge was originally a second degree felony in Bell County. After two very long stressful years my... criminal trial was finally over. Steve not only had my charge dropped to a third degree but he was also able to get me deferred adjudicated probation. Mr. Walden is a highly credible individual and he is a very diversified lawyer. He knew everything from child custody, CPS, divorce to of course my criminal part. Mr. Walden not once left me misinformed and he never made me appear in court unless needed. He responded to all my frantic calls and emails in a timely manner. However, none of these are the reasons why I'm writing this review. I am writing this review because Steve's actions after all was said and done. This man took my debt and he split it in half; saving me thousand of dollars. Yes, even tho he had worked countless hours during my trials were he had fraught vigorously for me. Mr. Walden doesn't practice law for the money but law simply is he's passion.

Efficient and Courteous

The staff was very efficient and courteous. There was a very well laid out methodology for how they handle new clients. Steve Walden gave me a free legal consultation and he helped me figure out whether or not my case was worth pursuing. Steve was very honest, straight-forward and showed his experien...ce and knowledge of the court practices/costs related to my case. I would definitely come back in the future for my legal needs. A good attorney, just not the attorney for my particular case

Served out of state and past Texas work hours less than 36hrs prior to the first divorce hearing, began making calls to obtain an attorney the following day less than 24hrs out from court, and as luck would have it, The Carlson Law Firm and Steve Walden would be the only law firm to return my call. ...It seems Walden just didn’t have time for the case, case overload, or a simple lack of interest in it; either way, he needed to inform of his lack of interest prior to assuming the case. Poor staff work from the get go; for example, I requested the paralegal to include several key items of interest in discovery and was ignored, I received requests for the same tax statement—already sent—3x times, received 3x times property division examples belonging to other parties, my case mixed up with another that contained the same last name, no monthly billing to this date minus the initial bill statement back in March of 2016, the paralegal laughed at me over the phone when I expressed concern over my retirement—declaring that I would still have disability, which I do not, though Hollingsworth seemed to think I did, laughed at again when I mentioned my spouse refers to herself as a ‘survivor’, and repeated references to military jargon that I never really cared for since I did not see how the military transcended itself into a civil divorce case. Poor staff work. As for the attorney, he seemed disinterested from the very first meeting in his office. After my experience with the attorney and reading the remaining reviews, I suspect he cherry picks many of his cases for the best results. Some early on assumptions concerning income and property led to a lack of discovery docs and tended to move the divorce toward a standard military divorce scenario—no assets, lots of bills, a spouse that has no income, and now let’s divide retirement and call it quits. He did a poor to nonexistent job of not only explaining the divorce process, rather also of disclosing the content of petitions and counter petitions submitted on my behalf prior to their submission to OC and the court. He put me behind from the very beginning. To this day, my follow on attorney is attempting to uncover my spouse’s true retirement income for division in final divorce decree, though OC continues to side step the issue. In all fairness, Mr. Walden continued to hit road blocks from OC in terms of providing docs, establishing court dates, or even presenting property proposals as the case proceeded. Mr. Walden filed to withdraw from the case after 8 months or so with no objection from myself. PROs: Has a solid professional working relationship with fellow attorneys in the area. Very calm and collective demeanor (likely good for child custody or adoption cases). More than likely, a solid attorney to retain for military style cases. CONs: Poor job of explaining the step by step process of divorce, along with expectations. Poor internal staff organization and staff work. Too accommodating to opposing counsel requests and desires.
