Client was charged with assaulting his wife and threatening to push her out of the car. A passing motorist heard screaming and called police. Lisa investigated the issues and pushed the prosecutor to ... look deeper into the case. Ultimately all 3 cases were dismissed. The alleged victim had learned that my client had an affair. She was angry and screamed at him in the car, striking him as he drove. She tried to get out of the car while it was moving; my client pulled her back. When the police arrived she lied bc she was furious about the affair. Though my client was guilty of infidelity, he did not commit any crime.

A passing motorist saw my client weaving dangerously on the road. The patrol car video showed by client to be quite unstable. My client wanted to plead. Our county has very strick probation terms. ... I suggested she get the help she wanted before any plea. She then went to rehab [inpatient followed by outpatient] and AA meetings regularly. My client pled guilty but went open to the judge for punishment. We put on evidence establishing all the work she had done to clean up her life. The judge gave a probated sentence with less than half the time offered by the prosecutor.

Client was charged with PCS enhanced to 1st degree because of a prior felony conviction [facing 5 to 99 years in prison]. Within a week her court appointment, Lisa contacted the prosecutor, requesting ... that the ADA review the police report. Lisa pointed out that the State could not affirmatively link client to the drugs [bc the drugs were not Lisa's client]. Lisa continued to pursue the issue through discussions with the prosecutor until the ADA came to the same conclusion.
