Opposing Party's $500k Reimbursement Claimed Denied
Feb 01, 2026OUTCOME: The Court denied opposing party's $500,000 claim for reimbursement and awarded our client a disproportionate share of the community estate.
Our firm represented Spouse A, and Spouse B made a $500,000 claim for reimbursement at trial. The case lasted over a year. Spouse B retained multiple experts to validate the reimbursement claim. Expert ... s testified at trial, but the firm prevailed and was able to not only keep much of the experts' documents from entering evidence, but more importantly, disproved Spouse B's claim for reimbursement. And further, Spouse B attempted to receive a disproportionate share of roughly 50x of raw land, but the Court granted our firm's request and ordered the land sold and also ordered that a sum over $15,000 be first awarded to the firm's client before the remainder be divided between the parties.
