My case took way longer than it should have. I waited for months with no response. Was told that the 5000$ retainer would cover the case then received another invoice 2 years later that I owed an additional 4200$. For a divorce? Non contested. DO NOT USE HER! THEY ROPE YOU IN WITH LIES AND THEN CHAR...GE YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD. THEY NEVER RESPOND YOH HAVE TO CALL MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEN THEY CHARGE YOU FOR NOTHING.

Simple custody reversal. I delivered the documents to my ex. No constable. I delivered them back to the lawyer. I completed everything in less time than required and for some reason I still ended up being charged more money. I was told the "negotiated rate" was just an estimate. 3 months after my cas...e was "finalized" I received documents from official agencies reporting that I owed back child support in spite of paying this lawyer more than we agreed to and was told everything was "final". Contacted the attorney and was told "I was no longer a client" and I would "not want to pay her more money" to take care of something simple that I could do myself. Curiously wondering why if it was so simple and the fee for service was paid in full why it didn't get taken care of. Ms. Barbeau claims to be an upstanding citizen and empathetic to her clients problems. All the while charging just as much as the lawyers who tell you out right they just want your money to help you solve your problems. I'd rather deal with an honest crook who over charges than a dishonest lawyer who overcharges. Don't believe the hype. Half the work done assisted by the client and charged more in the end only to discover the job wasnt finished. Shop around folks.

In the initial meeting I was mislead by her comments of how she wants to help her clients and charges so much less. My experience was made even more stressful by her. I honestly feel that I would have made out better without her representation. She pressured me to settle on everything... Created situ...ations resulting in me having to have long conversations with her. Her office assistant could no help with basic questions and always gave her personal opinion which was an insult. Sandra seemed too busy with no help and had me show up at wrong times to court and sitting around after while she attended to other clients at court. All at my expense. Hiring her was a bad experience and made my legal situation much worse. I terminated her services to hire another lawyer. She was inconsistent with information, told me I needed to pay for things that I did not, charged for things with no explanation of what it was or time spent.
