I have always put my clients first and truly represented their interests, even when dangerous and problematic to my own interests. I have helped many people with all kinds of problems. I address the client's problems. I don't so much look for a particular type of case as address whatever problem the client has.
I am particularly proud of this case, as an example. A young lady called me from Italy. She was in the Air Force stationed in Italy. She flew home to Guam on leave with her child. She purchased a ticket for herself and her young child. The child turned 2 years old while she was in Guam. The airline refused to fly the child home stating the ticket applied only to children less than 2 years old. Of course, the airline knew the child's birthday when it sold her the tickets. She could not afford the increased air fare and had to leave her child in Guam. I convinced a Federal Judge in Texas that she had jurisdiction, and the judge ordered the airline to fly the child home to Italy with the child's grandmother and return the grandmother home to Guam. At no point was anybody involved in Texas, and the Airplanes never flew over the continental U.S.
If I can, I will address your problem, no matter how novel or difficult. I am creative, and I get problems solved. I put the client first. I have helped many people.
The bar sanctions are an example of this. Lawyers in one instance were telling my client's child to lie that she touched the child wrongly (among other things). I stood up for my client. I addressed the issue. The judge was corrupt and so was the bar association. They took the position that it was frivolous to believe the child which of course was legal nonsense. If the child had lied as requested, my client may have gone to prison. The child was credible and the child's statements were corroborated in several ways. No evidence was ever presented inconsistent with the child's statements. Later, we learned that one of the lawyer's who asked the child to lie was the judge's friend and personal lawyer (who planned at the time to file a child custody case on behalf of the Judge). The bar association committed a crime by covering up the crime committed by those lawyers (solicitation of perjury). The judge later was disgraced by appearing on Youtube beating his daughter (Judge William Adams) and voted out of office. Despite all the fall out from that, I consider that case a huge victory in large part. I sucessfully kept my client out of prison. It was a success in that I successfully protected my client's most important interest (her freedom). Unforuntately, thie legal system including judges and the bar association are far from perfect. Those same lawyers at about the same time attempted to have a different lawyer and his paralegal imprisoned for supposedly touching his own children, and ultimately that case resulted in a $10,000,000 verdict in the lawyer's favor. I will like in this instance fight for justice even when things get very ugly. Things do get ugly sometimes, and that is just the real world.
I could have thrown my client under the bus and likely avoided a lot of what happened but I didn't. I also could have admitted it was wrong to do the right thing and likely avoided what happened but it would be wrong also to do that. I didn't.
The other main instance involved similar injustice and corruption. Sometimes, fighting for justice gets ugly, and I stood up for these clients. In the other main instance, I got my client visitation rights with his child even though the lawyers involved where doing corrupt things (with the support of the corrupt bar). I put my client's interest first, and my client prevailed, although I suffered.
There was fall out from these things of various kinds although at least in theory all that is history. I am proud of my actions. I did the right things when tested.
