Marcio Soares

Marcio Soares is a dedicated estate planning and elder law attorney serving clients throughout East Texas, with a focus on helping families protect their legacies and navigate complex legal matters with compassion and expertise. As the founder and managing attorney of The Soares Law Firm, PLLC in Tyler, Texas, Marcio brings a unique blend of military discipline, academic rigor, and personal commitment to every client he serves.

With over 15 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper, Ranger, and Special Forces Green Beret, Marcio reached the rank of Sergeant First Class and earned multiple military awards. He deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, honing skills in leadership, strategy, and resilience that he now applies to advocating for his clients. After honorably transitioning from military service, Marcio pursued higher education to fulfill his passion for protecting vulnerable individuals and families.

Marcio holds a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams University (2008), a Master of Science in Public Administration from National University (2017), a Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts School of Law (2020), and an LL.M. in Elder Law and Estate Planning from Western New England University School of Law (2024). While in law school, he completed two certificate programs from Harvard Business School, further enhancing his strategic approach to legal planning. Licensed to practice in Texas since 2023, Marcio is a member of the Smith County Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Marcio was selected to the 2026 Texas Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers® in Estate Planning & Probate. He also received the Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney Award from Lone Star Legal Aid in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Marcio volunteers as an attorney with Lone Star Legal Aid and offers periodic free will clinics throughout East Texas, demonstrating his commitment to community service.
