William E. Holman

William Holman grew up in Nederland, Texas by way of Mobile, Alabama. His family, Alabama natives, moved to Nederland when William was a young child. William graduated cum laude from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2019. After graduating from Lamar, William began law school at the South Texas College of Law in Fall of 2019.

During law school, William participated in the South Texas’s Appellate Advocacy program, the school’s ACLU chapter, and the school’s Democratic Law Students Association. While in Law School, William was honored to be a Dean’s Honor List recipient, to be initiated into the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, and to receive the CALI Excellence for the Future award for his outstanding legal research and writing skills. William diligently worked as a part-time law clerk during law school, where he gained experience in business immigration, general contract litigation, and the unique niche of residential construction defect litigation.

After graduating from South Texas College of Law in December 2022, William continued gaining valuable litigation and appellate experience by assisting in the representation of Houston area homeowners in complex construction defect litigation against homebuilders. William’s time in construction litigation reached its pinnacle when William assisted the firm’s chief litigator at oral argument before the Texas Supreme Court on behalf of Texas Homeowners.

In early March 2023, seeking to gain experience in a different field of civil litigation, William joined the Sloan Firm. While training in the Firm’s Longview office, William and his wife, Kimberly, fell in love with the city and it’s growing downtown cultural district. Shortly thereafter, William and his wife moved to Longview.
When not practicing law, William has a plethora of hobbies ranging from playing and recording music with friends to gardening, cooking, and shooting film photography with his wife. He is an avid collector and often spends his spare time tinkering with records, cassettes, recording equipment and film cameras. William also enjoys hunting and fishing when given the opportunity.
