David E Moore is a founding partner of Holmes, Moore, Waldron and Parrish P.L.L.C. For decades, Mr. Moore and his partners have become synonymous with aggressive representation for those who have been accused of committing a crime in Longview, Tyler, or any other court throughout East Texas and the rest of the State.
After graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University, he attended Baylor University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor diploma in 1984. Working as a prosecutor in Gregg County, he was recognized as the North Texas Region’s Narcotics Prosecutor of the Year. In 1991 he began a very successful private practice, and then formed Holmes and Moore P.L.L.C. along with Hall of Fame Lawyer Scrappy Holmes in 2004.
Mr. Moore was President of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2017-2018, the largest criminal defense lawyers state group in the U.S. He is also a former chairperson of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Project which educates and trains Texas lawyers in criminal law. He also has served for over a decade as a faculty member at the annual Texas Criminal Law Trial College teaching young lawyers how to try criminal cases. He is a frequent lecturer on criminal practice and ethics at seminars across the State. He is a multi-year recipient of the TCDLA President’s Award for his contributions to teaching fellow lawyers and contributing to the common good. He has been sought out to comment on criminal law issues by both local and national media.
Mr. Moore’s practice is focused on a broad range of criminal law matters in state and federal court, including but not limited to the following: felonies, misdemeanors, white collar crimes, parole and probation hearings, juvenile offenses, domestic violence, firearm offenses, murder, DWI, and sexual offenses. He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the United States Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Moore has also handled matters for clients in multiple other states appearing pro hac vice and/or through local counsel.
