Jenny Lanell Martinez

I represent companies and individuals in business disputes involving banking, energy, real estate, insurance, employment, contracts, and collections. I was a key member of the Godwin Bowman & Martinez team of attorneys who represented Halliburton in the Firm's successful defense of that company, in connection with all civil litigation arising from BP's Macondo well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico until the competion of the case.

I received a J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1999 and a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Southern Methodist University in 1995. While at SMU, I was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was the Publicity Chairman of the Political Science Symposium. During law school, I was appointed as Chief Counsel for the SMU Legal Clinic, research assistant to Professor Ellen Smith Pryor, Law School Director for Texas Women Lawyers, and Treasurer of SMU Women in Law.  I have twice been recognized among the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America, by Thomson Reuters on the list of "Texas Super Lawyers" from 2015 to 2018, and by D Magazine three times as being among "The Best Lawyers in Dallas".
