Sally Jo Bybee

Sally Bybee is a family law attorney with more than thirty years of experience. Her focus on family and matrimonial law includes divorce, custody, property division, premarital agreements and postmarital agreements. Sally’s clients benefit from her reasoned approach to divorce cases and she is adept at mediating a peaceful resolution to many disputes. She encourages all divorcing couples to reach agreement whenever possible, but when a case cannot be settled any other way, Sally stands ready to fight for her client in court. She is a highly experienced litigator, with exceptional courtroom trial skills that benefit her clients in especially litigious divorce or custody cases.

Sally has a background in business that allows her to help clients navigate the many complex business and financial issues relating to divorce, including property division, characterization and business valuation. In addition, she calls upon the team of business and tax attorneys in her firm to assist in specific tax, partnership and corporate issues. After having two children of her own, she became committed to a career in family law, and has worked exclusively in the area of family law since. She has a full understanding of the emotional issues involved in custody disputes, and is capable of navigating a client through the most demanding custody cases. She works hard to create caring solutions for the unique needs of each client.

She has handled virtually every aspect of divorce and family law matters including alimony, protective orders, rights and duties in the parent-child relationship, conservatorship of children, possession of children, child support, modification of child-related orders, enforcement, wage withholding, termination of the parent-child relationship, adoption, and paternity.

Sally is active in the legal community, maintaining her membership in the State Bars of Texas, Oklahoma, and Washington DC. She is also a Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation, and a member of the Family Law Section of the Texas Bar Association, as well as the Dallas and Collin County Bar Associations. Sally is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and she obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
