you could do that and go back to F-1 after one year as long as your work is with authorization under the TPS

once you file and receive your status under the TPS you will only be able to work under that status and work permit.

yes any time spent before age 18 will not count. once you pass 18 and 6 months then upon departure you be barred from reentry, and in your case...
