Biography
John McNair has practiced law in Texas for 35 years. After building a successful Estate Planning practice, John applied his legal and financial expertise to clients in need of healthcare, focusing on Medicaid Planning, VA Pension Qualification and other Elder Law issues.
John is currently the only practicing attorney in Dallas County who has earned the National Elder Law Foundation’s Certified Elder Law Attorney designation.
John earned a Master of Tax Law degree from SMU and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Arkansas. John is a Board Certified Tax Law, Estate Planning and Probate attorney as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He is also an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
John is active in his community, serving as a Board Director for the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Board Member of the DFW Chapter of the National Placement & Referral Alliance, and Legal Advisor for the Dallas Area Gerontological Society. His practice also supports the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Adult Protective Services Community Board.
Based in Dallas, John speaks frequently to professional groups about VA Pension Benefits, Medicaid Planning, Wills, Trusts, Advance Directives and other Estate Planning and Elder Law topics.
