Technically they have the ability to come after you for that money. I never see them come after anyone, so most of my clients do not pay it.

Yes, this is assault with a deadly weapon. If both of you were in a fight when this happened, it could be considered self defense.

You will have to look at the dischare paperwork. It does not automatically happen, but in many cases there will be an order adjudicating the case...
