David is experienced in federal civil appeals [United States Supreme Court, 5th Circuit, 11th Circuit, D.C. Circuit] and state civil appeals [Supreme Court, Intermediate State Appellate Courts]. In addition to his active appellate practice, David routinely handles complex commercial litigation cases involving multiple parties, contract disputes and claims filed under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (TDTPA) in state trial courts.
Upon completion of law school in 2001 before entering private practice, David served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jan P. Patterson, of the Texas Court of Appeals, Third District and the Honorable Wallace B. Jefferson, of the Supreme Court of Texas (Chief Justice, retired).
David enjoys travel and photograpy. Sea life such as humpback whales, orca and sea birds are among his favorite subjects, although he never has too many photos of his Boxer and American Staffordshire Terrier (the dogs).

"I like working with David Mizgala as co-counsel because you get a great mind - who clerked for the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court - with David's huge heart, great passion, perfect candor, and sense of humor. David likes to help the underdog, so if you've got a Giant to slay, consider calling David."
"David is an accomplished appellate attorney. His outstanding writing abilities bring polish to his persuasive legal arguments."
