Appealed conviction under Illegal Transport of Marijuana, argued statue was unconstitutional by attempting to supersede the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act
OUTCOME: Case dismissed
Joe was charged with Possession of Marijuana, despite having applied for a Medical Marijuana Card. Because the judge refused to follow the law, we filed an emergency appeal in circuit court. Before ... the appeal was even heard, the prosecutor moved for DISMISSAL OF ALL CHARGES. After months of standing up for his rights, Joe is now a free man.
OUTCOME: Children returned to parents
In this child protection action, five minors were removed from their parents and sent to separate foster care homes. Despite the Court ordering services, the Macomb County DHS failed to timely provide ... the necessary referrals. After intervening on our clients’ behalf, the treatment plan was complied with fully and the children were returned home. We were able to reunite the children in approximately six months and the entire family was discharged from court supervision after nine months.
