Natalia Duque Mejia

As a Colombian national, Natalia understands the issues of expatriates going through divorce, such as dealing with foreign courts, inter-jurisdictional custody matters, property acquired abroad, and immigration implications. Natalia helps clients navigate the legal process, analyzing all possible outcomes and utilizing her bilingual skills in explaining the divorce process.

Natalia dates her commitment to children and families to her college years, when she served as a Guardian Ad Litem in a number of child abuse and neglect cases. She graduated from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, and from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. In law school, Natalia demonstrated a particular ability in Family Law, earning the Dean’s Award for having obtained the highest grade in her class in that course. Natalia is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in Georgia. Prior to joining Goranson Bain, Natalia worked as an immigration attorney, which experience assisted her in successfully transitioning into the practice of family law.
