Catherine Lux practices family law throughout Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Johnson, and Parker counties. Having worked for over a decade as a paralegal before becoming an attorney, she brings practical experience to her legal practice.

Approach to Practice: Every family law case is unique. Some cases benefit from negotiated solutions, while others require strong advocacy in the courtroom. I work with each client to determine the best approach for their specific situation, always keeping in mind both immediate needs and long-term goals. I believe that families of all types deserve compassionate, competent representation - from high-asset divorce clients to LGBTQ+ families to immigrant youth, specifically serving immigrant youth through my experience with securing predicate family law orders for SIJS applications. 

Family law matters are stressful enough without wondering what your attorney is doing or what things may cost. I am committed to providing honest, practical advice to help clients make informed decisions during difficult times. I believe in clear communication and realistic expectations, and taking time to compassionately explain legal options. My office utilizes a secure online client portal to streamline communications and share documents so clients stay informed and active participants throughout the legal process. 

I understand that legal fees can be a concern, especially during divorce and child custody cases. Although family law matters often take unexpected twists and turns so the total cost is frequently impossible to predict, I'm transparent about fees and provide my best estimate from the start. I offer virtual and phone consultations to reduce costs and increase convenience. Payment plans are available for qualified clients and when circumstances permit.

Background: Before becoming an attorney, I worked as a paralegal for over a decade. This experience taught me how the legal system actually works day-to-day, not just the theory. It also gave me deep understanding of Texas family law and exposure to a wide breadth of family law case types, situations, and legal solutions. I've seen what strategies tend to work and which ones don't, and I understand the importance of thorough preparation. As part of this commitment to thorough preparation, I take great effort to stay abreast of cutting-edge case law and legislative changes. I am honored to be a member of the Texas Bar College, which requires extensive continuing legal education. 

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes volunteering with the North Texas Food Bank and organizations supporting domestic violence survivors. I frequently serve as a mock trial judge for local and state competitions, working with students from 5th grade through college. This community engagement informs my practice with both compassion and understanding of the challenges families face.
