Finally, a strong ,supportive, attorney

I needed an employment attorney after being terminated from my productive and dedicated work of 14 years . I was owed a large amount of commissions, that were not being paid. I met with attorneys that would accept the case, but then wanted to turn it over to a novice attorney in their office. I then ...chose a good attorney, but as time went on, I felt he went through the legal motions, but I was unclear if he really understood the details of my situation. Worried, and now more depressed, I found Robert Goodman and his wonderful staff. What a blessing! He was direct, clear, and realistic, but most of all, lifted the burden from me, and took over! My case was settled in mediation with his strength and guidance. I am so grateful it is over. Most of all, the support given to me, by him and his staff has restored my faith in myself, as this was a very difficult time in my life.

Be Careful - Promises you the Moon

When I hired Mr. Goodman, I was impressed. He very good command of the language and law. He appears reasonably smart. He appears empathetic. He states that he is there to help you. He promises you the moon and that he will sue. That all changes after he gets paid his retainer. After he gets y...our retainer, he really does minimal. He's been paid, so why does he care after that point? He does not follow through with his initial promises. He backs down to other attorneys. Instead of fighting for you, he will change his tone to compromise or settling. That's not what he promised in the beginning and what he was hired for in the beginning. He should be upfront about that. He is arrogant and does not like to be second guessed. He seems compassionate at first, but is really all about the money to him. I initially had faith in him as did other another reviewer client that I saw earlier on this website. But you will see that he is such a coward and is all about the money. You want a lawyer who will fight for you. Not one who promises you the moon, but cowers to other attorneys after he gets your retainer. Be upfront and realistic to the client. Don't over promise and under deliver. I have no problem paying an attorney, just wish he was more upfront. He does minimal after he is paid his "retainer." The office "museum" that he works at is fancy. He has large screens in his office. He trained at Columbia. In fact, he has a picture of his son shaking hands with President Obama. But don't let that fool you for one second. He is a coward and over promises before he gets paid his retainer. Looking at another reviewer, I also lost trust in this attorney over time. Do yourself a favor. Look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the fancy office. If you look, he really is not busy when you come into his office. Save your time and money. Look for a real attorney who will truly be your advocate and actually fight for you and delivers on what he or she promises. He is not very ethical. I learned the hard way time-wise and financial wise. I don't even care so much all about the money, but all the time wasted from empty "compassionate" promises. I really don't like to write bad reviews, but for this attorney - I have an ethical responsibility to future clients to protect them. Avoid at all costs. I have no idea why his partners keep him at the practice.

Seek another attorney

I hired Mr Goodman based on a referral. Mr Goodman over promises, under delivers and his communication skills are lacking for an experienced professional. Over time I lost complete trust and confidence in him and made a difficult decision to obtain services from another attorney. I believed Mr. Go...odman was working in my best interest and once I saw my file I realized this was not the case. If you want an attorney that fights for you and doesn’t just do the minimum to settle your case, please seek another attorney’s service. I reached out to the managing director and they are not interested in listening to a client to improve their business. I wasn’t looking for any financial gain, just providing feedback.
